The plot of the film did not begin in Peru, as the characters were actually introduced in New York City. Noah Diaz (Anthony Ramos) is an engineer who worked in the military but has had trouble finding work since he abandoned it. He couldn’t find a suitable way to help the family, so he decided it was time to turn to a life of crime, even if he didn’t believe it was the best thing to do. By chance, one of his cars he decided to steal turned out to be a Mirage (Pete Davidson), the youngest member of Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) crew.
The two soon became close friends, and the Autobots learned that they needed Noah’s help if the team wanted to retrieve some of the Transwarp Keys before it was too late. Ancient relics are useful for long-distance travel and teleportation, and in the wrong hands can threaten the safety of the entire universe. Unicron (Colman Domingo) has already set his sights on the planet protecting the other half of the Maximals and the Transwarp Key, and bringing him to Earth would lead to the destruction of the planet.
