Robin Farrell has been appointed senior curator at New York nonprofit The Kitchen. Farrell, who will take up his new position on August 1, came to the institution from the Art Institute of Chicago (AIC) as associate curator of its modern and contemporary art department. She arrived in the kitchen while her Chelsea mansion was being renovated for many years and began her stint at Westbeth’s makeshift mansion in the West Village. As senior curator, Pharrell will be involved in all aspects of the kitchen’s programming.

Farrell, an internationally recognized scholar on the work of German film director and video art pioneer Jerry Shum, joined AIC in 2013 as Assistant Curator and in 2017 became Assistant Curator and Promoted to Associate Curator in 2020.
