Jennifer HudsonShe was undoubtedly shaken by the revelation that a luxury bag gifted to her by an up-and-coming black designer is now in a thrift store — but even the designer says people who don’t like the singer should be fired. .
Sonic Saturday As told TMZ…Jennifer is a totally good person in her book. In fact, she’s urging people to slow down a bit and stop attacking her online.
ICYMI, J Hudd came under fire when a video began circulating showing a woman finding one of Sonic’s bags at a thrift store. Inside was a special note for her, so it was clearly meant for Jennifer.
People on social media quickly jumped down Jennifer’s throat…accusing her of abandoning a brand owned by a black woman.
But Sonic says others have taken the viral video out of context. She explained that the bag was from 2014 and that Hudson’s team actually paid for it. They gave it to her to celebrate one of her many career achievements, so it wasn’t a gift that Jennifer insensitively threw away.
She doesn’t even know if Jennifer got the bag or how it ended up in a thrift store. Either way, she said she wants to use the opportunity to leverage the “spotlight” singer to shine a light on black-owned businesses.
Overall, Ms. Sonik’s grateful people defended her brand. But when you get the whole picture, it’s a little irrelevant.
