Marissa says her paintings are inspired by states of existence that are somewhere between reality and dream space. This, she says, is where her imagination can run without limits or boundaries. She uses vibrant colors, intricate details, and iconic elements to express her vision of herself and her emotions.
Marissa has been painting since childhood and has experimented with different subjects and mediums over the years. She says she’s become more focused and consistent in her approach, finding her niche in combining human and natural elements. She says she draws inspiration from her mythology, folklore, spirituality, psychology, and her personal experiences.
Marissa’s paintings are not only beautiful to look at, but they are also meaningful and thought-provoking. She hopes her work will inspire people to tap into their own creativity and intuition to appreciate the beauty and mystery of her life.
“I want people to feel something through my work: curiosity, surprise, joy, sadness,” she says. “I want my work to be a catalyst for introspection and exploration.”
